Social Networking.

Hello there fantastic world of music lovers.

Just informing you of my own social network sites that available for you to stalk, creep, ignore, follow, friend, and etc.

I have debated over and over about whether I want to give out this information, but I decided that I should, because really there's no true information about me on any of these connecting sties... ha.

So first off, I would like to go for the obvious one, my Twitter profile. My "at" name is @Paige_Oliviaa and the link to my profile is:

That's for those of you a little too lazy to actually search "@Paige_Oliviaa" ha.

Next up I'd like to share my Instagram. Same name paige_oliviaa. I'm out there. I love my IG and probably post 2-4 pictures a day. If you have interesting pictures, I will follow you back! Twitter on the other hand, eh... But IG, I will follow ha.

My email, which if you don't know by now then you need to begin paying attention, is paige.stuhrenberg@gmail.com.

You can also "kik" me. Same name as everything else, "paige_oliviaa" ha. I try to keep everything the same because I'm very forgetful okay?! I will chat (: Just let me know who you are, and that you read my blog.

I have a Google+ profile. You can get to it by clicking on my name in the admin box. I will put you into my circles if you put me (: On there you'll be able to be updated on every post I do, since that's basically all that goes on there.

If you would like to Skype or Oovoo, my Skype name is "cheering4youu" and Oovoo's is ... well I'm not sure what my Oovoo name is but you can search my real name and you'll find me ha.

I do have Facebook, but no I will not add you. Sorry.

Well, that's all the updating that needs to be done I suppose! HMU ;D hahahaha.

The Mid-Summer Classic.

The motivation behind this one was that homeboy Cory texted me asking about who these guys were... Since I didn't know, me and him sat down and did a little listening on iTunes and YouTube to come up with the following opinion

Name: The Mid-Summer Classic
Genre: Unlisted. I would put them under alternative/pop
Where to find them:

You can find their singer, Robert Dobbs, on Instagram and Twitter as well. His Instagram name is robertdobbs, and the Twitter link is:
It would also appear that I have just stumbled upon the band's Twitter as well... their "at" name is: @TMSCband.
Knock yourself out. I must give tonight's post a warning label however... I have taken a sufficient amount of NyQuil to like, drug myself ha. It's bad. I'm really trying here thouhg, so hopefully it won't be too bad!

Let's begin, shall we?

I will begin this post with the best. The Mid-Summer Classic has a clean, crisp sound that is beautifully mastered and most likely technically perfect. Everything about their music is tailored and just perfect. The vocals have no mess ups; the instruments hit every note...

I will have to say though, perfection is overrated and originality is somethign that can be used and utilized.

As much as I would love to say that I love TMSC, Cory and I both agreed that while they were good, very good, they were not their own band. They were a cookie cutter version of other bands.

And while beginning bands can pull that off, the fact that I will be seeing you at Warped Tour on the first upsets that balance.

All in all though I think that the public will accept them, and they'll probably shoot to the top soon.

That's all folks!

Unrelated/Irrelevant.

I have like, nothing to post about.

I don't feel like doing a "Check It Out," post, because I'm not feeling any songs at the moment.

I actually feel really sick... that's why I've kind of been M.I.A. some lately..

Plus I'm waiting on Warped Tour baby! Ha!
I'm so excited that I can't even think about it. I'm so pumped...
I feel as if July 1st will never ever come, real t. Ha.

But anyways, if you're a band, or want me to check out a band, or a song... anything really... just leave a comment, or email me. Whatever is easiest for you.

Open to anything you need.

Warped Tour.

So, running out of bands to post about ha.
That mixed with laziness on finding some... it's an unfortunate disease I have.

But anyways, I'm going to be at Warped Tour in Houston on July 1st, and I am so pumped!

I figured I would make this my main topic of tonight's post..

Who has been to Warped? Who's going? And lastly, who are you most excited to see???

I personally cannot wait to hear All Time Low live. I'm obsessed with their music, and all I've been doing lately is listening to them on Pandora ha.

They're sound is insane. I can't wait!

MayDay Parade is also on my list of must-see... Cory is just going to have to go see them. (We have very similar musical tastes, and yet some bands we just don't agree on.)

I'm also really pumped to see Tonight Alive, just because they aren't super popular, yet still known. I think their lead singer is absolutely gorgeous too.

It's going to be the best day of my life, real talk.

FAQ's.

Okay soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
On my PureVolume profile, I get asked lots and lots of questions. So I'm just going to answer them on here... smart right? Haha. You have to come to my blog to see the answers, so I get more views! Yuh.

These will be in order of most asked, to least. Ready? And go:

Q) What is your number?
A) It's a ten digit number that starts with a 3 and ends with a 3. Best of luck.

Q) Here's my number, can you text me?
A) Uh, negative ghost rider.

Q) What are things you do, besides listen to music?
A) Well, I enjoy being active... like, real T. I cheer, dance, play tennis, lift weights, and enjoy going for walks and swims. And I love to just sleep. Like, really and truly I do. I also love being a part of 4-H and FFA. They're the reason I've been a little M.I.A. I was at some camps, and Ledbetter, Texas doesn't believe in internet.

Q) What made you start your blog?
A) That's all explained in my very first post, but to go into a little more detail, I tried for an Area Officer position in FFA. When I didn't get it, I was crushed. I really was. I cried for about 3 hours over it. And my good friend Jacquelyn told me that it was all for a reason, and I'd find something else to do. And she was right. This is what I believe God had planned for me. And if I was an area officer, there would be no way in hell that I could be doing this. So yea. Ha. Other than my love for music, there's why.

Q) How do you choose the bands you write about?
A) Well, they come to me. They message me, say, "Check out my music!" and then I do, and then I write. When and if I run out of people, I just go look up some bands, and then write about them. It's all first come, first serve and random.

Q) Who has been the nicest band you've talked to?
A) This one is a tough one. A lot of the bands are really nice and grateful for what I do. I would have to say the nicest person I've talked to though would have to be Tommy V Cooper from the Nightbirds. He's awesome. I love chatting with him on Facebook, and we've talked on Skype once. His voice is sexy. I enjoy listening to him tell me things. Ha.

Q) Do you enjoy doing this?
A) Uhm, duh.

Q) Will you continue it to the future?
A) I think so. I would love to see I Can Music as a big thing.

Q) What are you most excited for in your blogging career right now?
A) I'm extremely pumped to be going to Warped Tour on the 1st in Houston. I can't even explain it. It's going to be sick.

That's all that I have for now! We'll go back to regularly scheduled blogging tomorrow (:
I would like to notify the world that Eyes To Earth has a new single on their website called Sunshine Nohalani and that Interfate's CD is now available on iTunes and CD Baby. Check it out!

Rock of Ages.

Recently went to go watch Rock of Ages the other day with a friend.

I didn't really want to go see it... but the other movies sucked so bad that we decided that we might as well. So off we went, with neutral minds.

Which honestly made this movie very interesting. I had seen the previews for it, and it didn't really seem to interest me. I'm not sure why... I love 80's music, I love Russell Brand, I love rock 'n roll, the lead lover (Diego something-of-the-other... it started with a "B" ha.) was insanely attractive, but I just didn't have any desire at all to go see it.

So we're sitting there, and the movie starts and I'm thinking to myself, "Oh my gosh, are you freaking kidding me? This is so cheesy!" I really disliked the beginning. I didn't hate it. It didn't suck that bad. I just was bored with it. It didn't do much for me. So cliched... small town girl, moving away from her home to hit it big in another city that's just vicious and mean. And of course Mr. Hottie has to come along to help her out.

Just not that interesting.

But then, the middle became very interesting. A little more humorous, with some better numbers in there. The characters started to build and really come to life.

I really began to enjoy myself. It's as if the writer just took one giant chill pill and let it flow. It wasn't forced. The actors played it off beautifully.

And of course the ending was great.

So all in all, I would have to say that I enjoyed the movie. I'm happy that I went, but I wouldn't go to the theaters to see it again.

Some criticism that I did have, that really and honestly just irked me, was the fact that Catherine Zeta-Jones, a beautiful, sexy, talented woman, was made up all dowdy and given only one musical number of her own? What is that? I was very disappointed.

I was also not impressed with Tom Cruise as Stacie Jaxx.
.... For obvious reasons.

When you think of a hardcore, drunk, difficult rocker, your mind does not jump straight to Tom Cruise. My friend and I decided that Johnny Depp would've made a much better Stacie Jaxx, for reasons of, but not limited to:

  • Attractiveness
  • Talent
  • Ability to play a drunk man
  • Just attractiveness
  • The fact that he is more hardcore than freaking Tom Cruise!
So anyways, for what it's worth, there is my opinion. Yay!

(:

Coverage of the Aaron Watson Concert.

6.14.12

Awesome, okay, so this past week I was in Lubbock, TX for some 4-H contests, and we were lucky to have Aaron Watson come give us a concert on Thursday, June 14, 2012.

I listen to country music, and I've been to other Texas country concerts (Kyle Park twice, and Josh Abbott, and later this summer I'll be seeing Wade Bowen.) but I must say I have yet to be as impressed as I was with Aaron Watson.

He had an amazing presence up on the stage, as did the rest of his band. They walked up and immediately everyone glued their attention to the stage. There was no more pushing and shoving to get closer... there wasn't any yelling at someone in the front or trying to move from the back. Nope, the entire crowd just put everything they had to him.

I also fell in love with the fact that he was talking to us, the crowd, individually. He was reading tweets that people were tweeting while at the concert. He really was connecting with us, and to me, it made me feel as if he really and truly wanted to be there. I feel like, as a listener/fan, that is something extremely important to have. You want to be warm and welcoming and have the audience right at home with you.

Not only was his personality great, but his music was on target as well.
We all know those bands that sound amazing on the radio, but then you hear them live and you're thinking, "WTF? I paid money to come hear this?"
Not Aaron Watson. His vocals were amazing, and Damian (the sexy fiddler) was right on top of what he was doing. There were no mess ups (that were noticeable.. I don't know what was supposed to happen) and there was no floundering.

After the concert, I bought a tank top, and met him. He signed my shirt (duh ha) and we took a picture. He is first off, the most sexy Texas country singer that I have ever met, and secondly, he was so sweet! And he's a really good hugger.

I'm so happy that I was able to have this experience and I would like to thank Texas 4-H for putting this concert together. Thank you to Aaron Watson and your band for putting on an amazing and memorable show. It'll be tough for Wade Bowen to beat it.

Sorry about the quality of the photos. Took them with my iPhone, since I suck and forgot my camera ha.

Juss Russ Update.

Alright so I just got to do an update over Juss Russ...

The more I listen to him, the more I am crazy over his music! I really can't explain it, but I'm just really into him.

His music isn't just rap... Mislabel or something. His music is real. Really real.

The lyrics are enticing, and vibrant, and lively. They're real and a turn on to be honest.

I just wanted to give my updated opinion, because he deserves that.

Please go listen! If you like rap, you will LOVE him. I promise!

For a look at the old post, and to see the networks to follow or like Juss Russ, click here.

I know this is a short post for today, but still.. plus I'm running short on some bands! Ha! But have no fear, I'll find some (: If you are a band, and want to be covered, just send me an email, or hit me up on Facebook.

Consumed By The Avalanche.

I found a band with an interesting spin on their respective genres. Extremely impressed, just by their intro As Everything Caves!

Name: Consumed By The Avalanche
Genres: Alternative/Rock/Progressive
Where to find them:

Really wish they had posted about Facebook or Twitter!

Alright, so just to prepare, this band has only instrumentals up at the moment, so not too much to be said, but man do their instrumentals pack a punch! I'm especially impressed by the guitar, and I really love what they did with the beat.

I feel like they took an interesting spin on their genres, because it truly is all three genres combined. Typically (I have found) artists will put multiple genres up that describe them and what they like to do. But they aren't really combined. Not here though. Consumed By The Avalanche has figured out how to take all three, and sew them together with creativity, ingenuity, and originality.

Definitely will be watch for music from them!

(I got a recent comment from an anonymous reader that was disappointed in the fact that there were no "metal" bands on my page. I would just like to clarify that I don't search out these bands; the bands message me. When I run out of bands, if I were to run out, I will search out bands. But I would also like to say that just because there isn't the genre "metal," there are still bands like that. Example: While I.)

Cassidee.

After starting this blog, I have found a new found love for music overseas.

Name: Cassidee
Genre: Pop
Where to find them:

Fun band up right here. Only one track out right now, but it's an amazing one. They really take on the pop challenge well. My beef with pop music is that it sounds fake and over-produced with no real meaning. Examples: Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, etc. But Cassidee - awesome name by the way. Love it. - doesn't have that problem. The electronic noise is kept at a beautiful level and the voice isn't covered by the music.

I was excited to hear this band, mainly because they were French. I've never heard French people sing. Ha. I would like to know why accents don't come through in music... but that's not really a point. Cassidee's lead singer has an amazing voice.

Check them out, and download their song! Seriously guys, appreciate what free music they can give. Labels are a pain to deal with.

Sidenote: French guys... where have you been all my life?!

Mr. Saint Hope.

Yay! Fellow Texan! I'm so excited to write this.

Name: Mr. Saint Hope
Genres: Acoustic/Indie/Ambient
Where to find him:

Okay so the only word that is popping into my mind at the moment is weird.

Listen, and you'll know why.

This isn't the kind of weird that makes you feel weird though. It's just weird. A word which I just looked up and found that we have been using it in the wrong sense for quite some time, but a word that still applies. Mr. Saint Hope makes music that sound supernatural.

I think the best genre that is listed to describe this music is ambient. The music itself surrounds you, and your mind, and puts you in that comfy place that I have talked about before. I feel as if my mind is being numbed just by listening without really listening. If I were to take a moment to stop and really listen, I'm quite sure that I would just stop.

Which in reality, we all need to do.

So make it stop. Go to PureVolume and listen.

Final Round.

Creativity isn't here for an intro for these guys... I'm not really sure why. I suppose it's because there is no comparison. Final Round is Final Round and no one else. They make a category of their own.

Besides, since when is flash actual talent?

Name: Final Round
Genres: Rock/Pop Punk/Pop
Where to find them:
Isn't that a beautiful site when bands have lots of places to find them?
I think so.

Okay, so these guys just really have a style that is eclectic to their own. As I listen more and more, each song is more distinct and individual from the one before. We all know of those bands that just kind of blend together, and none of their songs sound different from the one before. Final Round doesn't fall under this category.

I'm not saying that they may not blend into another band. So far I have not found anything super "distinct" to who they are. In fact that sound like a typical band that you would find on Warped Tour. (I'm so smart, because they did play on Warped Tour in '06 in Detroit. Big shock.) I will say that the guitarist deserves extra kudos + specific calling out. As we all know, I'm not super musically inclined, just super in love with music. So I'm not going to be able to give you the right terms for this. But this guys playing is amazing. My ears are impressed. They apparently don't want me to know his name, but great job man. Impressive stuff.

So yes, they have a new full length album out - now available on iTunes - and a free download available on PureVolume. Take advantage!

Holiday Away.

One Direction goes Pop Punk. And more attractive (YES. I said it. More attractive.). And well, more talented.

Name: Holiday Away
Genre: Pop Punk
Where to find them:

Alrighty, so all original this time ha. No covers. And I must say, the lyrics are great. I love the songs. I love what the music has to say. It's all something that can be taken in by everyone. Now as for the singing.. Eh. But as I said before, sometimes imperfect singing adds to it. You feel like they are real. Not saying Holiday Away shouldn't try to approve, but you catch my drift.

As for their instrumental, much better. Love the guitar. Love the drums. Love it all. It's all very balanced. Well played, and not to mention something to rock to. My head is literally bobbing right now. I don't head-bob. Just fyi.

Go listen. You might find yourself pleasantly surprised. 3 free downloads on PureVolume. Who can complain about free music?

Check It Out 4.

Okay, so first post from the phone. Yay. So exciting.

Tonight is El Maton, so no time for a real post. Guess what that means... More songs! Whoo-hoo!

1. Confidence by Teddy Geiger - oldie but a goodie for sure. I love his original album version however, not the radio version. Throwback time ha.
2. Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne - keep the throwback going. I love this song... Partially because I have an aunt named Stacy, which means the song has to do with my grandma. Ha. But anyway, classic. This song will hold on through the ages (;
3. Feel the Tide by Mumford and Sons - I love this band so much. Their folksy sound mixed with deep lyrics really create an amazing feeling.
4. Rolling in the Deep by Go Radio - obviously a cover. But much better than the original.
5. Eyes Open by Taylor Swift - Olay so I'm not a big fan of T.Swift but this one is a good one. It was in the Hunger Games apparently ha.

Well everyone, enjoy your Thursday and enjoy these songs!

Angelic Attraction.

[Insert witty intro here]

Just kidding. Think originality, contradiction, and complete brilliance. Although, isn't that how it is? Brilliance comes from originality and contradiction.

Name: Angelic Attraction
Genres: Pop Punk/Rock
Where to find them:
Well... I think I would have to start with the fact that this band has covers. First band I've come across with them, and to be honest, I really like covers. Even though it's not the band's original music, you can really see the character, personality, and substance of the band.

And that's what you can really grasp about Angelic Attraction. They have everything covered from Owl City to Vanessa Carlton. (Yea, Vanessa Carlton... 1000 Miles. Ha) So you see the variety of genres to begin with right there. But Angelic Attraction's versions do not sound similar in any shape, form or fashion. They have total punk flare with fresh vocals. From the screaming to the singing, you would think that the songs were written by Angelic Attraction themselves.

It will definitely be interesting to hear their own music when it comes out. (The tracks available on PureVolume are apart of the EP called Before the EP ha. Love it.) So I'll be sure to keep you guys posted! In the mean time, enjoy the 5 free downloads on their PureVolume profile now.

Question 2.

Alright so... I'm doing a different post tonight for multiple reasons. One is obvious. I'm curious. And another main one is I'm way tired and ready to K.O., so let's get to it, shall we?

On one of my friend's Facebook, he put:
"The Scene Aesthetic Needs more stuff. Beauty In The Breakdown was good but I miss [their] old stuff. They faded out like nsn."
Now I am a huge die-hard NSN fan. Really and truly. Through and through. I find him extremely talented, as well as attractive, and he seems to be an all around great person. So I may be a little biased in saying this but... I don't feel like he has "faded out" as my friend put.

But I may be blinded by my own musical affair that I have with his music on a daily basis. I follow his site. I stalk his tour dates. I'm on his Twitter and Instagram all the time.

So has he faded out? Do I just not know it?

What do you guys think?

And what's a band that you listen to that has technically faded out to the rest of the world, but you still hold onto like they're brand new?

Let me know (:

AshelyNotDeadYet.

Mmm, mmm, mmm, good thing Ashley isn't dead yet... because I'm digging this awkward combination.

Name: AshleyNotDeadYet
Genres: Screamo/Pop (ScreamPop)
Where to find him:

Alright, so I was going through, checking out ANDY's (ha, get it? AshleyNotDeadYet... I didn't see it at first.) PureVolume profile like a good little blogger, and the first thing I noticed is that their genres were screamo and pop. My first thought was, "What the hell?" but then my mind decided that would be an awesome combination. I must be a musical genius (to some extent... Since I suck at actually creating music ha.) because I was right. AshleyNotDeadYet has a killer sound that is unique to their own self.

Now, I know that screamo isn't the most popular musical genre out there, but pop is... you know, since it is POPular. So even if you don't like screamo per-say, you should still check ANDY out, just for the sake of being open minded and adventurous.

On their PureVolume profile, you can download 3 of 4 songs - winning - and they will be coming out with their first CD soon. Very exciting too, because it's going to songs with English, Spanish, and Spanglish, which I think is pretty neat.

So yea, go look and listen. I'm sure you'll be presently surprised.

Oh yea, and speaking of CD's, COCO has picked up their CD's! And if you're from NJ, and you went to their show tonight, please tell how it went! (:
(NJ has all the cool music.. :( haha.)
