Diary of Snow.

Okay guys, this is a fabulous band to come back to. I'm so pumped to share this with you.

Name: Diary of Snow
Genre: Acoustic/Ambient/Alternative
Where to find them:
  • Tumblr - http://diaryofsnow.tumblr.com/
  • PureVolume - http://www.purevolume.com/DiaryofSnow
  • Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/diaryofsnow?ref=ts
  • YouTube - http://m.youtube.com/#/user/DiaryOfSnow?&desktop_uri=%2Fuser%2FDiaryOfSnow
  • MySpace - http://m.myspace.com/home.wap?bfd=webnext&isredirected=true#friends.list/profile/530135070
Be sure to check out all of their websites and like and follow them for constant updates. This is a great band to get back into my writing with, and I'm so excited. Lets begin, shall we?

So this band has been very patient with me, and I thank you guys so much. They messaged me back in November, but here it is, just like I promised.

Diary of Snow is an interesting mix of their genres above, creating a unique and creative sound that pulls you in from their first note played. When I hit the play button for California, I was immediately attached. I knew automatically what to expect, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I knew that I would love the music. Their sound reminds me of an old-school NSN meets Owl City, and who would've thought that the product would be so intriguing?

Not only that, their lyrics are killer, true, and raw. Quotable for sure, ha, and I was ready to go tweet them as soon as I heard them. I didn't, because I'm currently engaged, but it's the thought that counts right? The mix of songs on their PureVolume page is very impressive as well. The songs range on the emotional gradient, which is nice, because most bands tend to stick to one type of feeling. Diversity and uniqueness will definitely send this band to the top in only a matter of time.

Jordan, Trevor, and Erik describe Diary of Snow has not a project, nor a band, but as a movement, which I completely agree with and love. They are achieving their goals, and that's an amazing thing. Their debut album became available for free download on January 10, 2013, and their song, Baby, I Love You [Album Version], is available for free download.

Also be sure to check out their side project, Cheyenne's Music Box here!

Follow the blog, follow them, and show us all some love.
We appreciate everything you do for us. Without you after all, there wouldn't be an us (:

*Side note: I'll be posting more once my new computer comes in. I haven't had much technical luck lately, with my original computer crashing, then my new one freezing up constantly. It's been hard to make this happen, but I will be posting again. Not daily, because I'd like to do a better job posting so it may turn into one or two a week. Keep an eye out (: xo*

Hey, hey, hey.

How's the music world doing, eh?

I know I've been MIA. It's on purpose. I figure I would rather do a top notch job than a shitty one, you know?

Anyway, I'm coming back for this post really quick because I wanted to share a little something with you guys...

In my computer science class, we had to create a Prezi over a topic relevant to the computer world. Guess which one I did? Ha.

Piracy, yup. So anyway, in our Prezi, we had to make an Animoto. I was kind of impressed with mine, so I thought I would share it... my Animoto that is, not my Prezi. You can look at that too, but you have to find it yourself ;D

Anyway, click here to see it. It's pretty sweet I'd say.

Oh, and just a B.T.W., I found this amazing new band. I'll be doing a legitmate post over them later. I'm very pumped about their music..

So now to make this even more relevant to music and what this blog is actually about, go check out these songs:
- Techno Fan by The Wombats: LOVE. Seriously. Such a cute song. Their amazing.
- Magic by NSN: I feel like I've already said to check this one out but oh well. It's amazing. Cracks me up. Given up faith in Chris? Have no fear. He's coming back.
- Oxford Comma by Vampire Weekend: Such a chill happy little tune. Recommend it if you just want to hang out and hold up the peace sign.
- Best of Us by the Dirty Heads: Love. This. Song. My friend suggested it because it reminds him of me ha. It's pretty great. Very Bob Marley.
- Clarity (feat. Foxes) by Zedd: This was a single of the week awhile back. I always download them, as should you. This definitely climbed up my list as a fave. The lyrics ring true.

That's all the time I have. I love you guys and appreciate everything y'all have done for me. Stay beautiful.
xoxo

Really?

I've been lacking in the blogging department lately. Life has been kicking my ass bad lately, and I don't have much time.

And I need a moment to vent. Because no one around is worth venting to.

First off, this would've marked the two year anniversary for one of the greatest relationships I've ever had. Of course, with my luck, it did not make it two years. I'm holding on to something that I should've let go, whatever, I've heard it all. Judge me. And it's not even that I'm holding onto him. I'm holding onto that happy feeling that I haven't gotten in about a year and a half since he left. I'm holding onto every smile, and laugh, and memory that has already happened, but won't ever happen again. On top of it, he now has a girlfriend that hates me, and won't allow us to be friends because she's insecure in her relationship.

Screw you, hoe.

Secondly, my car almost got towed this morning for no reason other than I parked close to the band cones. Excuse me for not parking in your box, but next to it my kind sir. I swear... dumbest BS I've ever seen in my life. So dumb. So, so dumb. I was lucky that one of the girls in my class came in late and told me because otherwise, I would've been carless this afternoon. I love the band to death, but do you really need the whole damn parking lot to practice? Nope. And why don't they just go on the field? There's no one on there during first period, so have at it. Leave us innocent bystanders alone, and let us park where ever we want.

Thirdly, I'm in my dual credit class right now. I have no work for my economics class (yay) and no work for school. So essentially I have nothing to do. My master plan for today to waste away these pointless 50 minutes with a teacher I cannot stand was to get on PureVolume, listen to some bands that have backed up, write my blogs, and have them ready to post.

But of course, with my luck, as my luck is going, that can't happen. Why? Because the two other girls I share my class with have decided that they need the headphones. It's not like I don't use them every day. It's not like music isn't my life or gets me through. Nahhhhh, who cares? Let's have headphones dangle from our neck and talk, so I can't use them.

Now commence the longest class period of my life.

I've been so mad lately. And so frustrated. I had a fabulous weekend. But I feel as if that was just a break between the sucking. Senior year is supposed to be fun right?

Not for me... hate to burst any hopeful seniors out there, but this is the second worst year of my high school career, and it's only been the first six weeks. Curious for the order?
It goes:
- Freshman
- Senior
- Sophomore
- Junior

What I would do to be a junior again, ha. But of course I also want to just get the hell out of here, so I'm happy with where I am in that sense. College Station can't be any closer to mine.

Yes. I am an Aggie. (;

I'm pretty sure this is the longest post I've ever written. I'll stop boring y'all with details about my life. Y'all come here for music. Not for my whining.

To add some music, check out these songs:

- Oh Well, Oh Well by MayDay Parade; my anthem lately. Love the lyrics. Plus Derek's voice is just sexy a'f.
- Magic by Never Shout Never; their newest release. I love it. It's so cute and sounds like his old stuff. If you've lost hope in Chris, no need, because he's coming back. So excited for his solo release too.
- Hills Like White Elephants by Isles and Glaciers; I'll be doing a more in depth  post over these guys. It's a supergroup including Vic Fuentes, Mike Fuentes, Jonny Craig, Craig Owens, Nick Martin, Brian Southhall, and Matt Goddard. Insane stuff.
- King and Lionheart by Of Monsters and Men; my favorite. Love this song. So cute and sweet.
- The Boy with the Arab Strap by Belle and Sebastian; some of my favorite lyrics come from this song (Color my life with the chaos of trouble). Great little tune. It's an oldie, but a goodie.

Alright people. Done. Enjoy and have nice lives.

If you need to vent back, go for it. Comment away.

Question 2.

Alright so... I'm doing a different post tonight for multiple reasons. One is obvious. I'm curious. And another main one is I'm way tired and ready to K.O., so let's get to it, shall we?

On one of my friend's Facebook, he put:
"The Scene Aesthetic Needs more stuff. Beauty In The Breakdown was good but I miss [their] old stuff. They faded out like nsn."
Now I am a huge die-hard NSN fan. Really and truly. Through and through. I find him extremely talented, as well as attractive, and he seems to be an all around great person. So I may be a little biased in saying this but... I don't feel like he has "faded out" as my friend put.

But I may be blinded by my own musical affair that I have with his music on a daily basis. I follow his site. I stalk his tour dates. I'm on his Twitter and Instagram all the time.

So has he faded out? Do I just not know it?

What do you guys think?

And what's a band that you listen to that has technically faded out to the rest of the world, but you still hold onto like they're brand new?

Let me know (:

Check It Out 3.

You know, I'm not particularly feeling a full on post tonight. I'm not sure why.

Life has been a little stressful lately, and I'm just really not feeling like reviewing a band. I mean, who am I to decide how great a band really is?

Just not really in that kind of mood and I am in that kind of mood, you know?

You know.

So anyways, I figured I would just give some suggestions. I have Pandora on my iPhone - should kiss whoever created that - and I really want to suggest some songs. So here we go...

  1. Almost Lover by Fine Frenzy - Found this song on my NeverShoutNever Radio Station. Ha. So yea, anyway, this song just spoke to my heart. It really just spoke what I've been going through and I was brought to tears.
  2. A Drop in the Ocean by Ron Pope - Once again, NeverShoutNever Radio... I knew this song before though. I love this song. It's such an amazing heartfelt love song.
  3. Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want by The Smiths - Found on The Cure Radio Station. I was really hoping to hear some of their music. I really fell for this one. Just listen. It's great.
  4. She's Killing Me by A Rocket to the Moon - NSN Radio. I fell in love with this song, just because it describes my relationship with someone. I feel like it will to a lot of people.
  5. Sand In Your Shoes by This Providence - I feel like this one came on the Go Radio Station. But this one is just a chill song. It'll mellow you out.
Check these songs out. If you have Pandora, make a station from them. I highly suggest it.

Kanvas King.

Boom! Internet is back up, and rollin'! Heck yea! Just in time for some dupstep coverage.

Name: Kanvas King
Genres: Electronica/House
Where to find him:

Alrighty, so this guy here. He makes some pretty hot dupstep mixes. Original, electric (literally), and totally something that someone sober could trip over. One of those you have to hear for yourself. The best description I could give is it reminds me of old school gaming, only futurized (is futurized a word? No. But I just made it one.), and just better in general ha. He balances the perfect amount of lyrics with electric beats.

I know that dupstep is more of an "Asian" thing, at least around here anyway, but I feel like his music doesn't need to be stereotyped. One of my friends, who doesn't dig this kind of music, is actually a fan of good ol' Nathan. So open up your box, and check him out.

And totally unrelated, but I just watched the Silent Library episode with NeverShoutNever. Epicly hilarious ha. You can find it in two parts on YouTube.
Anyway, check Kanvas King out!

Check It Out 1.

So we had an unfortunate series of events tonight. My Intra-net decided to not cooperate, and won't allow me to listen to any music on the Internet.

I apologize, and since I am trying to do a post a day, I figured I would do one anyways, only over songs that you should listen to by various artists. These are going to be by anybody, for any reason. Ready? Good.

  1. A Twist in My Story by Secondhand Serenade - I love this song so much. It's so sweet, and such an amazing love song. It makes me want to grab my ukulele, and learn it. (Still haven't. Working on it.)
  2. Remembering Sunday by All Time Low - So, I pretty much fell in love with this song, because it describes me crazily. Maybe not describes me. I'm not sure. I just can really relate to it. Plus All Time Low is just bad-a to begin with.
  3. Never Look Back by MishaRecords - Party anthem for real. It gets me pumped. I love this song ha. It just makes your foot tap. Lame, I know, but so true.
  4. C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips by OK Go - Just a cute song. It has no point really, but I just love listening to it, especially while I'm getting ready. It's so easy to sing along too.
  5. Complex Heart by NeverShoutNever - This one is a sad one, but you know what? We all need to cry ha. Very relate-able, very true. Plus I just love NSN. Ha.
So I hope you guys can add these songs to your collection on iTunes and enjoy them as much as I do. I have 500+ songs, so maybe I should try to do one of these once a week. Y'all tell me!

That's all (:
Have a great night, and sorry again for the inconvience!
